Back then, my hair was my biggest insecurity.

Every morning, I stood in front of the mirror wishing my hair would somehow look different. But it never did. My edges were so thin that I became obsessed with hiding them. My hairline looked patchy, my hair stayed dry no matter how much oil I applied, and my scalp itched so much that I found myself scratching it without even realizing it.

Wash days were the worst. Every time I washed my hair, I saw strands on my fingers, in my comb, in the sink, and all over the bathroom floor. Week after week, I watched my hair break until I started believing it simply wasn’t meant to grow.

What hurt even more was the embarrassment.

I still remember someone casually saying, “You don’t even have front hair.”

They probably forgot those words the same day, but I didn’t.

From then on, I became painfully aware of my hairline. I hid behind wigs because they covered the part of me I didn’t want anyone to see. I avoided showing my natural hair, avoided taking pictures, and constantly compared myself to women with healthy, beautiful hair.

I couldn’t stop wondering, “Why does everyone else’s hair seem to grow except mine?

Like many women, I searched for a miracle solution. I bought every product that promised rapid hair growth. I tried oils, homemade recipes, rice water, cloves, rosemary, anything people claimed worked. Every new recommendation gave me hope, but every failed result left me even more disappointed.
